Radeon - how stable?

Thinking of upgrading from my trusty V3-2K. Anything Nvidia is out of the question - tried -5- different Nvidia products in the past (2 TNT's, 2 TNT2's and GeForce DDR), all had horrible compatibility problems, lockups, freezes, you name it...oh, and crappy 2D to boot. Bottom line is, I'll never touch anything made by Nvidia. Tried V5 - compatibility/stability was great, but the card itself is underpowered and overpriced, so I returned it. This leaves me with the Radeon, which I know nothing about. How stable is it?

 
Well I think it kinda depends on what games your playing and which motherboard you have. I've yet to have my Radeon lock up on me (although ive only played two games with it, freespace 2 and Tribes). However I suggest you read through the forums at http://www.rage3d.com. Most of the Radeons compatability problems are discussed and many times solved there.
