I have an opportunity to buy a Radeon HD6570 DDR3 with 2xDP and 1xDVI-I for about $60. It appears to be a pull from an HP OEM system.

I'm not a gamer, I just don't have the time. I enjoy an occasional Madden (it's probably been 12 months since I played it though), and one of my neighbors is trying to get me into some game "Kill the Orcs" or something like that, but even if I do get into it, I don't mind turning the settings down for the very occasional use.

I don't really have a reason to upgrade other than be able to buy and connect one of those 27-inch Korean IPS monitors. My currect HD4650 doesn't appear to have the right DVI connector (single-link as opposed to dual-link). My other priorities are low-ish power consumption, bang-for-the-buck, and connectivity. Should I buy another monitor or two in the future, I want this video card to last me for awhile, that's why I'd like at least one DisplayPort as long as I can do so for a reasonabe price.

So my question is, does this sound like an ok deal? It's hard to find anything with a displayport for less than this, and it seems reasonably priced for the performance level. I know GDDR5 would be better, but I don't want to spend a whole lot more than $60. Any "suprises" that I might find with an OEM pulled card, as opposed to a retail?

Thanks!

But will the display port be used with those 27-inch Korean IPS monitors? I think you'd use the DVI (dual link) port, otherwise if you want to try display port you'd need to buy an adapter that I think is the fancier $100 type of adapter to support such a large resolution of 1440p.

While the DP isn't completely necessary at this time, I'd like this card to last as long as possible and I'm thinking a DP is going to much more useful down the road than a VGA.

well if the displayport is the dealbreaker, you can get a 6670 for $10 more AR. i wouldn't trust an OEM pull. especially when you say "it appears to be from an HP", indicating you're not positive where it comes from?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161375 $70 AR ($80 before)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...scrollFullInfo $70 no rebate and extremely low power consumption

I don't want to go as low as a 5450 for what gaming I may end up doing, and certainly not for more money. The 6670 is tempting for $20 more, but I get stuck in a cycle, that for just a little more than that I can get a 7750, just a little more a 7770, etc...

Curiously, why would you not trust an OEM pull? Just because it's used, or some other reason?

Update, I ended up passing on the card in the original post.

After looking around some more, I found on ebay, a Dell pulled 7570 (6570 rebadge) DDR3, with DP, DVI, HDMI and got it with a bid of $41. Can't beat that for the price.

Thanks for the input.
