Radeon HD6350 resolutions stretched?

I've got a user here with the strangest monitor problem. I just gave her a pair of brand new Asus 1080p monitors, and she wants everything to be bigger. I figure i'd set it to 1600x900 or 720p depending on which she preferred, but neither of them display properly on either monitor. The image ends up stretched to something like 1920x900 on each monitor. Tried single monitor, extended desktop, clone, they all do the same thing.

I removed catalyst control center and totally uninstalled the drivers, then let windows reinstall the default driver, it still does it. Reinstall the full CCC suite downloaded from the AMD website, same issue.

The odd thing is that when I uninstalled the driver from device manager, it was listed as an HD5450 when the card is actually a 6350.

Any ideas why this would be happening?

After you removed it, what did the driver install as? Windows can do wacky stuff especially with video drivers. In cases like this I recommend you get the driver from the manufacturer website.

It's a moot point now, but still strange. I didn't feel like spending all day troubleshooting driver issues so I swapped the card with an Nvidia card I had sitting in the server room. It did the *same thing*, until I went into the nvidia control panel and swapped the monitor settings from "aspect ratio" to "stretch to fit". Very odd considering 1080p and 1600x900 *are* the same aspect ratio, but it works now so who cares.
