Probably the most unprofessional benchmarks I've ever seen.

The benchmarks weren't even taken at the same time - they were taken within a several month period.

yeah but big website do the same ;) A website that is ranked top 3 tech website does it too. i shall not name. Anyways i will wait for n7 review.

Well, it's the only X2900XT 1GB review I've seen yet...

After reading the review (testing methodology issues aside), it's pretty much what I expected from the 1GB version... A slight bump in fps at higher resolutions, but not a GTX killer. Still, at $509 USD this soon after release for OEM http://secure.ncixus.com/produ...79/2900XT1GPE/Diamond/ it's not really a bad card compared to the slightly higher priced (newegg) 8800GTX.

Well, for the people who aren't pleased with their testing methodology (probably due to the card's performance relative to the GTX), you can still see results compared to the other XT parts and configurations using the same test bed/methods/drivers. Seems there's very little difference in the 1GB and 512MB parts and even less benefit from a price to performance perspective with CF for the 1GB part. Still, you might be better off going for 2 x 512MB in CF instead of the 1GB part if you're willing to brave CF drivers and implementation. :D
