Erm, 7950 is its own entity, it was not rebadged in any Rx 2xx product.

The R9 270 and R9 270X are not the same chip as the 7950. They are the same chip as the 7870 Ghz edition. The R9 270 has slower clocks than the 7870 the R9 270X has higher clocks than the 7870.
Mid to High hierarchy:

7850
R9 270
7870
R9 270x
7870 XT (which is a cutdown 7950 but with 2gb instead of 3gb)
7950
7970
R9 280x
R9 290
R9 290x
You are missing one card, the 7870 XT, (though it is harder to find) so I added it to your chart.

Yup forgot 7870 XT.

One MAYBE two mfgs sell a 7870 XT, it really is not worth the money at this point with the 7950 on fire-sale; as it runs hot and has less V-RAM.

Depends on what price you can get it.

If you can get a 7870 XT for $180 with a $40 MIR ($140 AR) like people could get a month ago then it is worth it for 7950s on fire sale prices are going for about $190 to $200 AR.

Wish I got on the MSI 7950 3gbs for $155+Tax $130 AR that Frys had 5 weeks ago. My friend was able to score two of them.

All of the 7000 series cards are being fire saled out, so keep your eyes out for them for there are some good deals.

This debate maybe better suited for VC&G, but I don't see the point of buying a Tahiti LE chip at this point.

NewEgg has one for sale, not in stock now, $160 AR. 7950 is $190 AR.

7950 is def worth the $30 extra for video ram and extra processing power, along with using less power.

Your right I stand corrected I was looking at a benchmarks of the 7870 compared with the R270 which are the same chips the benchmarks also had the 7950 as a reference

It shows $184.99
$164.99 after $20.00 rebate card expires 11/30
$5.67 Shipping

OOS, but I've seen items in stock within the week! Looks like a great deal since I paid more for my 7870 LE. The games I got, I sold for $40.
