For those of you had didn't read the first thread, here it is

Tonite the neighbor lady stomped down to tell us to turn it down again. We had already turned it down and we told her that we had spoken with management and they told us our noise level was acceptable.

Well, we went ahead and turned our stuff down a notch again. I told her the reason I even had music playing was so that I didn't have to hear them stomping around like mad.

Well its now almost 11:30 and it sounds like they're running back and forth between the kitchen and one of their rooms. :| WTF we turned or music down... :|

Again to complain to management tomorrow...

I have to get up at 4AM every day. Set your alarm clock to go off then and make sure you have earplugs :D

Sounds just like my situation a while back. My neighbors upstair were complete douche bags. One day I got so pissed that I took a 2000 page law book from college and threw it against the ceiling. It was satisfying to hear something tip and crash against the floor.

On the day they were moving out, they wouldn't answer the movers as the rung the bell. As I left for work, I toldthe movers that they canceled but to charge them for the day for their inconvenience. When I got home from work all their stuff was on the sidewalk because the new people were moving in. It was all there for the night and the idiots had to stay there to keep an eye on the stuff. I would have given anything for it to have rained that day.

I'm tempted to get a Winamp alarm clock and tell it to go off at 3:45, 4:45, 5:45 and then 6:30 when I get up playing Pantera and Metallica... ugh :D :p

I have the exact same speakers but the 2.1 not 4.1 setup, I love them for the computer.. Worked fine in the dorms last year, and they should work fine in the apt this year ;)

I'm having problems with my neighbors upstairs too. I'm being nice and turning down my music for now. I am moving out of this place as soon as humanly possible.

You are in a no-win situation. It's awful being "at war" with the neighbors.

The stress isn't worth staying there from my experience. I'd plan a move as soon at it was feasable.

Is there a chance you can more to another apartment in the same complex (on the top floor)?

We moved (my roommate and I) in here halfway Thru July. We signed a 12month lease, but we're going to pay it off as soon as we can...

The funny thing is, they didn't mind how loud me and my girlfriend were... but the music... hell we turn it on and they instantly go nuts. Its either this or I can set winamp to play nothing but AWP rounds going off...

That sucks. Damn asians!! Dunno why, but I'm assuming they're asian. I'm asian, so it'll be pointless to flame and call me a racist. That how a lot of us are man. Jerks and idiots and all that. I like the idea of throwing the book up there and tiping something over. I wouldn't do it though cuzz stuff that causes financial damage sucks. I like getting em mentally. Why don't you try attaching some subs to the ceiling and have em play something with pure bass. Then have your speakers on low. When the lady comes down to complain, call management up. When the guys show up, they'll be on your side since the lady is complaining while there is almost no noise coming outa your apartment.

Play all the music you want....if I were you I'd tell that damn lady to shut her trap and that you can play whatever the hell you want. I know this sounds childish but your neighbors are acting like kids anyways. You pay for the apartment ....so you should be able to play music at reasonable volumes no matter what time of the day it is.

Replace one of your ceiling light fixtures with ceiling fan. Just install one blade though. Turn that sucker on. (don't try anything higher than lowspeed unless you have renter's insurance!) That will generate as much LFE as a $15,000 subwoofer for a fraction of the cost. Unless it breaks something. Of course they have to prove it! :)

Cheers!

Get a hunting bow and shoot arrows into your ceiling. That oughta scare them off.

Just kidding, but it is a fun idea.

That's why I suggested a move to another apartment in the same complex so you don't lose any deposit money.

If it was me, I'd keep playing my music at a 'reasonable" volume and tell the neighbor to get used to it since they also make intolerable noise for you. If none of your other neighbors complain, eventually the management will get so sick of both of you that one party will definitely be asked to move.

Make sure management knows that you are the "reasonable" party and would be glad to move elsewhere in the complex (for the same deposit, of course).

Good luck.

A friend of mine took to answering the door in a black robe and holding the "Satanic Bible" when he had unwelcome visits from the neighbos. They stopped coming over after that.
