Radeon flickering screen

Just got Radeon and it's flickering like crazy even when it's set to 85Hz. Does anyone else have this problem on their Mitsu or Sony tube?

Try to set the monitor to Super vga in display properties. This solved some issues with Radeon for me.

There have been shimmering problems with the radeon on some system with high end monitors. Eman has been working long and hard with ATi and others on getting a solution as quick as possible. The WHQL 7041's seemed to solved most of it and a dicussion can be seen here.

Eman has also sent me a temporary patch for the problem. You can download it from our ftp. Here's what Eman has to say about them:



Here is the patch with the read me, as was stated it is a beta patch and it does have some issues with the DOS box, but one can back up their files before applying the patch, so this should not be of any problem.

It will be realeased officially with the driver CD 7.16 (the prereleased drivers should be the latest you have on your site, but I am not too sure about that).

These drivers only apply for windows 98/Me and should take care of 99% of the flickering, the final version should take care of remaining issues.

Well I just hope that it helps those other people out there.

Again this is a beta patch but it takes out the shimmering (most of it).

thanks alot I will try that when I get home. This flickering is driving nuts where I would rather use my laptop.
