HI there,
I searched for other posts relative to my issue, but couldn't find anything sounding the same, so I hope someone can give me an idea of what's going on.
I have an AIW X800 XL that was operating fine for about 10 months. Then it began "crashing" to a black screen playing WoW. The system is completely unresponsive and needs to be rebooted. The crashes can happen after 2 minutes or 2 hours. I removed the card and replaced it with my old GeForce 4 and the issue vanishes.
My problem is this: With the steps I have taken and the fact that the problem got worse over time, is it a good bet that the card is experiencing some sort of failure? If so, is it ever worth sending a card back to ATI for repair? It will cost me $300 or so to replace it with an equivalent card, so if I don't have to spend that much it would be nice.
Any comments or suggestions are most welcome.
Thanks!
