Radeon DVD playback in XP

Can anyone out there who is running XP with a Radeon get decent DVD playback? I am running Radeon AIW and the output is terribly grainy from both WinDVD and PowerDVD. This is with the default driver and the 3226 driver in both hardware and software playback.
