Have the recent Radeon drivers improved performance? The latest reviews I can find were posted in about March and show the Radeon 64meg getting its butt kicked. I like the options of this card, but I don't want to get a poor performing card.

You can go to a forum in Rage3D. Their site is dedicated to ATI especially radeon.

Some forum members usually post a benchmark everytimes there is a new driver release.

I use ATI Radeon 64 DDR and very satisfied with it.
I recently replace it with G450 since I don't use 3d anymore
and G450 have the best 2d quality output.

that's funny, I just went from Matrox G400 to Radeon 64DDR. I thought long and hard about giving up the best 2D in the industry... but I'm tired of getting 20fps in counterstrike and whatnot.

Have you noticed a difference in 2D image quality with the Radeon?? I know Matrox is supposed to be the best but the Radeon is often given a close second. What's your opinion??

The 2D quality differences is noticeable that
I replace my ATI Radeon 64 DDR with a G450.

Radeon 2D is not bad, but I found that
text are a lot crispier using G450.

still better the any nvidia cards, I think it is a good compromise between the two. #d performance is pretty good under win2k now. We where just shy of 3000 in 3dmark 2001. 933 mhz duron with a 200 mhz clock radeon 64 Mb ddr card.

you'll see a difference if you've been using both cards for some time. But considering how much more power a Radeon gives you compared to a matrox, I think it's a very good trade-off.

I have the AIW Radeon and I can tell that their new updated driver and software are much better than the ones that came with the disc.
