Radeon drivers don't work! Where can I get working drivers?

I downloaded the lastest Windows 98 Radeon drivers off their web site, wme-radeon-7-84-030228a1-008040c-efg. After the install, windows would load but the smallest occurence (like opening/closing an explorer window) would cause the computer to reboot. I had to boot into safe mode to uninstall the drivers. I am now using the basic VGA driver. My card is the Radeon 8500LE 128Mb, a generic one made by Sapphire. I have an Epox 8k7a motherboard and a 1200Mhz T-bird.

Anyone know of drivers that work?

Thanks.

Download the previous version from ATi's archives. Of course I'm assuming that ATi's Catalyst drivers are similar to nvidia's Detonators, in that they're "generic" drivers that will work with any ATi-based card.

Now it is telling me "invalid RPC stub" when I try to install ANY version of the drivers! Something must have gotten messed up somewhere in all the installing/reinstalling drivers, even though I removed it from the system devices, ran the uninstall program, AND the driver cleaner program and then went back to the standard VGA driver EVERY time I removed the drivers and tried different ones. What to do now?

Format C:/s and re-install everything. Works every time. (so far, out of at least 20 fubared computers I have fixed for friends)

AgaBooga, I want to play video games. I was running Linux for a while but games aren't really made for Linux. Windows 2000 is crappy for games. And I HATE XP. But most of all I hate Microsoft.

What do you suggest?

PS, I was trying to install these drivers after a fresh format and Windows installation anyway.

And I'm with Mark's sig.
