Radeon Drivers and Win2000

I'm thinking of getting a new video card. The Radeon LE seems to be the best card for the money, but I'm using Windows 2000 and I've heard that ATI's win2000 drivers leave much to be desired. Are the drivers poor, or have I heard wrong, or have improvements been made?

I switched from a Radeon to a GF2 Pro/450 1 week after I got Win 2K. I tried EVERYTHING (that I could find) because I liked the Radeon, but the Win 2K drivers are really sub-par. The Geforce Pro besides being faster, has really good Win 2K drivers and at least the one I got - Gainward Pro/450 - has 2d that is every bit as good as the Radeon on a 19" Sony monitor.

At one point and for quite a long while their Win2k drivers were extremely poor, but the latest drivers are back up to par with the Win9X drivers.

I'm running W2k with an LE (3102 drivers) on an Iwill KK266 flawlessly. Get the latest VIA 4n1 (if you haven't already) and the MS fixes for W2k and you'll be fine. For support check out x-faqtor.com.

I've been running Win2k Beta 3226's for my Radeon LE and it runs flawlessly. No bugs or anything. I lose about 100 points in 3dMark 2k1 but that's hardly noticeable (maybe 2-5 frames). I've been running WIn Xp for the past week and a half, and the win2k 3226's also work great for it. So i'd say that the Win2k drivers are just fine right now.

I switched from Win98SE to Win2k, using a Radeon 64 VIVO.
I haven't notice any of my games being slower in Win2K compared to when
I was using Win98SE.

I'm using beta drivers 3224 for Win2K and everything looks beautiful and plays smoothly.
I've been hearing that beta 3226 are fine also.
