Radeon Driver Question

I just got a Radeon 32 DDR. It works great using the drivers that were on the CD (4.12.3044).

However, I've noticed that they are up to driver version 4.12.3056.

Do the newer drivers increase the speed, compatability or get rid of visual abnormalities?

Basically, which radeon driver is the best to use?

I have the Radeon 64meg VIVO and have tried several of the newer drivers and have not noticed any increase in performance (or very little anyhow). But have had some trouble when the monitor shuts off... the video will not wake up for some reason... I just reinstalled the original drivers and it works perfect??? Go figure???

If you are using an intel based system, use the 3056 drivers, they are much more stable than the original drivers. However, the 3063 are most stable for AMD-based systems. Both give about equal performace (however, both should be a bit faster than the original drivers).

Cheers,
Napalm

Yeah, they have lots of beta drivers for you to choose from, and some people swear they are a lot better. Win2k Users should definitely use the ones on their site and not the CD's, but Win9x you just have to try them and see which ones work best for you, people seem to get mixed results with all of them.
