radeon crash after overclock....

i have a n asus a7n8x with 2500+ overclocked at 200mhz fsb (2200mhz)... yet i can never get any of my games to work at this level...
my radeon crashes if its at 8x, and if fast writes are enabled... so both are disabled (this is the 9600pro radeon im speaking of)... and anytime i try and play unreal tournamet or anything, itll crash and cause my screen to die out, forcing a reboot...

asus a7n8x, 430true power antec psu, latest drivers for everything... corsair twinx 3200 ram at..8,3,3,2 if i remember correctly... sku800 heatsink with 80mm fan running at 3500rpm
temps reach about 48C on cpu.

(when im not in 3dgaming, cpus runs fine.)

Any suggestions? SHould i change mhz for agp card to 66mhz? add more voltage? what do you guys suggest since many of you have high overclocks....
 
Your AGP bus shouldn't be at anything EXCEPT 66 Mhz.

If your CPU isn't stable at 2.2 Ghz, why do you think you should continue to run it at that speed? If it's unstable, set it down to 2.1 Ghz.
 
fasted overclock without crash so far is 1900mhz... a 77mhz overclock seems a bit weak to me...did i just get a crappy barton? i doubt its the cpu since its the radeon that seems to be causing me the troubles...
 
If it's the only thing you changed, then yes it is your CPU. Leave the AGP frequency at 66 MHz and the AGP voltage alone. Overclock your CPU first then move on to the vid card so you know which one's limit you're getting to when you crash.

Good advice. Also... run Prime95 while looping 3DMark for at least 12 hours... if you get no errors, then it's as stable as it needs to be.
