Radeon cards and usage for Physics?

Hello all!

I have a 5870 as my main gfx card. I also have a 3650 laying around doing nothing. So my question is can I put that 3650 in my rig no crossfire mode, and use it for a dedicated physics card? If not any reason for me to put it in my rig?

Nope. Physx is ONLY for nVidia and Agiea cards.

You could run the 3650 for two more monitors. Most likely you don't already have more than two or three running anyway. There is no reason for the 3650 to be in that system unless you are running Folding @ Home or Milkyway distributed computing projects.

I'm certain the 3xxx class can be used for those purposes, correct?

It remains to be seen if older ATI cards will be useful when pairing with newer cards under DirectCompute or OpenCL. Currently PhysX is an Nvidia-only feature.
