Radeon cards and Avivo technology

Is ATI's avivo technology simply video in/video out capability? If so, then any Radeon X1xxx card with the avivo feature can stream video into the computer, yes?
 
VIVO is the name for video in and out.

ATI's AVIVO is their video, encoding, decoding, and display technology.
