Radeon Branded Ram!? What!?

No, if you actually read the article, they claimed that fusion was replacing the low end cards. Sounds like they think there is a higher margin in selling apus than 5450's etc.
LOL, yeah , I read the article.
The cpu and graphics divisions still report their revenue separately in quarterly reports. The ram has Radeon stamped on it.
If AMD stops low end discrete cards, I understand , they HOPE, more APU's are sold, but that revenue will also be tallied to the cpu division.
Plan A, does not always work, whatever plan A is.

Plan A is simple, sell APUs at the low end to OEMs who can resell them to businesses in bulk. Then load them into cheap low end PCs to sell at big box stores.

Intel's low end CPU IGPs stink and Llano's do not. The CPUs are strong enough for web, Office, & light gaming.

If needed a stand alone video card can be added that should be able to link up with Crossfire. Then their is AMD's PowerXPress4 (Bacon) that works like Nvidia's Optimous.
