Radeon and the Maxx.

I am considering a Radeon 64mb card as a potential upgrade when they drop in price around X-mas. However, driver support is troubling me quite a bit (i.e., Win2K and the Maxx).

Some of us have been hammering away at NVidia and its smug little PR department over the past several days, but I have not seen alot about ATI and the stance they took towards their customers with the Maxx and the lack of support for those using Win2K.

Does anyone know whether ATI is planning on doing the right thing and offering a sweet (discounted) upgrade path from the Maxx to the Radeon for those using Win2K?

That's a great idea Napalm. They could discount the Radeon a bit for users who can prove (receipt/bar code) they own a MAXX or give an extreme discount in a card swap. Dunno which would be better. I don't own one but I was looking at the MAXX before learning of the Win2K problem.

I'm sure the Radeon won't have too many driver problems. I think it will be ATI's bread and butter and will completely suffer if they don't get their act straight. The MAXX was just a horrible card. I can see why they didn't fool with their drivers. I'm guessing their was a hardware problem that they didn't want anyone to know about.

Jeez, that would be great if they offered an upgrade path for Maxx owners. Lets start a petition to ATI!!
