Radeon and it's molex

I took out the y-connecter that came with my radeon and stuck a molex from the psu directly into the card...was wondering if that was ok or not.
 
It's better the way you did it. The card should have it's own power connector. The connector they gave you was for folks who couldn't spare one just for the card.
