I am putting together a new system with the following equipment. Note: I have not purchased any of the components yet.

IWILL KK266-R Motherboard or K7T Turbo-R or ASUS A7V133 in order of preference.
Radeon All-In-Wonder AGP Card
Athlon 850 to 1.1G Processor.
256MB 133 Memory

I am mostly interested in video encoding and decoding with this machine. I am not a gamer. Any constructive comments about the configuration above greatly appreciated.

Specific questions about the AIW follow:

1. Has anyone gotten the Radeon AIW to work with the above motherboards? If so which ones? Any major problems?

2. I play DVD's via my computer into a display that will only sync on a progressively scanned 720x480 60Hz composite sync single IE.. NOT multisync. Note: I am currently using a ATI onboard Rage Pro 4M card to perform this function. Does the Radeon AIW support progressive 720x480 composite sync? Does it support all the tweaking of the onboard Rage Pro 4MB card?

Thanks Much In Advance

PS--This is my first post to AnanTech

I found a web site that has instructions on how to tweak some of the registery settings for the Radeon cards. The web site address is www.rage3d.com/radeon/reg/index5.shtml. Has anyone tried these registry tweaks to set the resolutions to other than ATI driver defaults? Has anyone tried them on the All-In-Wonder? I assume you have to go back into the registry to remove the customs settings. I still need the ablity to set the sync to composite. Are there any other methods of setting the sync to composite, or better whys to change to non-standard driver resolution/sync settings? IE.. Powerstrip or possibly something with a user GUI etc..

PS.. I called ATI today and they confirmed that no released version of the Radeon All-In-Wonder supports 720x480 resolution.

I guess this is a harder problem that I anticipated.

Any info appreciated..

Thanks Much
