Hello,
I have just got a new Radeo AIW 8500. When I start my TV, it gives me a message that DMA for one of my drives (Western digital 120 GB) is not enabled, and hence it might not give optimal performance.
I went through the steps outline to enable DMA. Selected:
Transfer Mode: DMA if available
Current transfer: IT IS GREYED, AND SHOWS PIO MODE (??)
I'm wondering why it's running on PIO when the DMA is enabled? Every time I start my TV, I still get the message to enable DMA on this drive! It is a relatively new WD hard drive which I bought last year. My other Maxtor Hard Drive nicely shows the current transfer mode as "Ultra DMA Mode"
While recording on the WD HD, I can also observe some choppyness in the video while recording. Is it because of the DMA problem?
