I was told this card can have either GPU, the 360 GPU being the preferred one.

Is there any way I can tell which GPU my card has without removing it and yanking off the fan???

Are you sure this (or any other) program would accurately identify a 360 core if it was "programmed" with the 9800Pro BIOS (which is for the 350 core)???

Firstly it makes no difference which core you have unless you are planning on flashing your 360 to the xt bios.
just use some needlenose and clip the push pin ends together and the heatsink comes right off. It will easily go back on by pushing the pins back through the holes. then clean alittle of the thermal compund off the GPU and read it (there is a ton of it and it is silver thermal compund. There will be enough still on just the heatsink so you don't have to reapply any to put the heatsink back on. They use a ton of it . Disassembling the card I think does not void your warranty. As long as you do not take that sticker off the card which says warranty void if removed you are all set!.

yeah, and your heatsink WILL BE LOOSE FOR THE REST OF ITS LIFE

Honestly, I wish ATI could have thought of a better retention mechanism.

For inquiring minds, AIDA32 will not properly identify the GPU on a Radeon 9800Pro that has a 360 core unless it is flashed to the XT BIOS. My 9800Pro has the 360 core (took the fan off to check), and AIDA32 identifies as the 350 core.

I also have the Hynix memory, so I may flash it to the XT BIOS.
