Radeon 9800P on Abit IC-7 : upgrade video card?

Remember the hot card from a few years ago, the Radeon 9800 Pro? I'm still using one on my Abit IC-7 mb with a 3.0 Gig P4.

Is it madness to try and get an AGP card that will be better and will fit on this mb?

I only ask because I've been in a cave for a couple of years, and the specs and low prices on all these more recent cards are impressing me. But I don't know enough about the new rigs to be able to decide if upgrading with this IC-7 mb is pointless.

I like the flight simulators, Half-life2, FEAR, but I wish they ran a bit better, or that I could turn up the graphic settings a bit.

AGP. 12 piplines, whatever they are; 4 more than my 9800P. Twice the memory. More must be better. Cheap too. Thanks for the advice.
