i got me an ATI 9800pro (with the non XT chip)
cooled with a Vantec iceberq4. i have currently got the fan being controlled by speedfan.

is it safe to run the fan at 1% when not Oced?
(when i overclock 470/360 (i think) i set the fan to full for playing CS: Source etc)

just a noise issue...

anyone shine light on it for me?

cheers
JP

Yeah, take it down to something like 35-40%, that should still be quiet and lot cooler than 1%, you would hate to have that thing fail on you...

so even when idle at night / just surfing the net 1% in speedfan is too low?

anything over 10% in speedfan is practically 100% speed

i mean when im playing games / overclocking the fan is set on full.

for reference i believe it is a gigabyte card with 128 ram, Vantec Iceberq4 and 8 copper ramsinks

yea i will 😛
its only because my shuttle (SB75) is in my university room with me therefor too much noise = bad.
at 1% the fan is nice and quiet anything more than that and you can hear it
