Radeon 9800 pro talk

What do you guys think of this card? I just got a 9700 pro for a great price and I don't regret it one bit. The 9800 looks like a healthy increase, 20% in most cases. ATI just keeps on coming.

From the reviews ATI has it going on right now. Gotta love the performance increase esp. in AF, and AA. Looks like a great batch of cards, especially since it will help drive the prices of existing Video cards down. Go ATI.

Nvidia needs to give us something to play around with now.

im glad i return my hercules 9700pro i paid $399 i would have been mad as hell if i didnt get my money back now im going to get a 9800pro...🙂

I'd planned to get a 9700/Pro after the release of the 9800 part, figuring it was just a faster (higher clocked) piece and I could just overclock a 9700 Pro to match its perfromance. Now I'm really wanting a 9800 Pro primarily for its improved efficiency with AA and AF... 10% performance increase without the increased clocks. Running at 420/380 wouldn't be too bad either 😉

Hats off to ATI, they deserve any success that may be instore for them. nVidia has bumbled up a little but I doubt they'll stay behind for too long, they are in a much better position than when 3Dfx was prior to their fall. I think ATI will hold an advantage over nVidia at least until the NV40/R400 arive to duke it out, could very well go back into leap frog mode, although ATI has lept very very far starting with the R300...

I would like to point out what great products both ati and nvidia are coming out with. Each is trying their hardest to satisfy each market. Like said, competition drives innovation. This should be one of the best years for graphics cards in a long time. Each company will trying to outdo each one the entire year. Already we are seeing a geforce 4 ti 4200 equivalent, if not better from nvidia for 80 bucks retail!

😀 Hopefully sooner than later too.

I am also interested in seeing more benchmarks for the 9600 Pro. I wonder how well it will OC, esp. if it can be found for around $150, a price that doesn't seem too unrealistic.
