The Radeon 9800 Pro is without a doubt the dominant force in the high-end graphics card market. It has the performance ? without image quality cheats ? to run the latest Direct X 9.0 titles without having to reduce settings to an unacceptable level.

Check out the review here.

Hehe, I diddn' notice that. LOL :) I need to go back and read how my Crucial 9800Pro over clocks and start messing with it...

Bump....thought a few more ppl might have been interested as I'm sure loads of you are contemplating a 9800Pro b4 HL2 ships... :)

Very nice looking HSF on the double slot card..... can't wait to be able to buy one of those for my card..:D

This certainly shows the 256mb is a complete waste of money.

On the back of the card you will find a switch which allows users to select between silent mode, and full power. At this point I think it is important to point out that even at full power, the iceQ is significantly quieter than the stock cooling solution from ATi.

More heat over an extremley small core. At equal head production, a .13 core is gonna be harder to keep cool than a .15, because it's more heat in a smaller space. The GeforceFX 5800 producing *More* heat than the R9700 pro didn't help any, either.

I really like that HIS card though, in quiet mode it seems to be almost completly quiet, and even in full power you still get awesome cooling with less noise than the ATi sollution and more overclocking headroom to boot. There's something for everyone, lol.

I just don't get how ATi is still pulling rabbits out of its .15mu R3XX hat while nVidia continues to struggle with its new, wiz-bang .13mu processors.

Maybe, maybe not. The 9600 Pro I picked up 3 weeks ago is a HIS, so you might be able to get one of those 9800s in Canada if not the US.
