In Device Manager in Windows XP, it lists that I have two Radeon 9800 Pro video video cards under Display Adapters. It says Radeon 9800 Pro and underneath it it says Radeon 9800 Pro Secondary? It also lists my monitor twice under Monitors in Device Manager? I only have one monitor and one video card. Why is it listing two? The reason I ask is because I am having problems with my PC exiting in the middle of the game when playing C&C Generals. AT first the game starts to lag when crolling through the map and then it just exits giving an error message. Does this have anything to do with the problem? Or what else could it be?

Help greatly appreciated.

Seeing 2 entries is normal. My ATI 9800 w/CAT37 also has two; primary and secondary. In the dispaly properties there is a drop down box that lets you select which to use. I think it defaults to primary. I don't know what's causing the problem you describe, but it is doubtful if the 2 entries has anything to do with it.

As I learned by reading messages in this group, the secondary display adapter corresponds to the DVI output on your card. If you've read the sales literature (or actually done it), the two outputs work independently, able to run even in different resolutions simultaneously.
As for the Monitor, I guess it just defaults to the only available compatible output device.
My 9800np shows the same devices.

It might help people diagnose your problem if you posted the error you receive. Check your XP event viewer for other possible clues to what is occurring.
