Hi, I have a Radeon 9800 PRO with a R350 core. I'm just wondering, what is the difference between this R350 core and the R360 which is also found in the 9800 PRO. Why are there 2 different cores? Is there a big different in performance?

Also, what would a R360 core have over a R350 core other than being able to be flashed into an XT?
Have I been cheated by getting a R350 core 9800? Or is there a negligible difference.

Thanks.

i believe the R360 core was designed for XT cards. I think they just started using 360 cores not up to spec in Pros. That or they intentionally downclocked them. I think they phased out 350s once 360s got kicking. Some say the R360s have better heat dissipation, enabling them to be clocked higher. a card with a 360 may overclock better, but both cores are clocked the same at stock.

Alright I see, So essentially there is no difference unless you are doing OCing?

i believe so. you can look at bench comparisons between pros and xts to get an idea of the spread, which is evident, but not much.
