Radeon 9800 Pro 256 booting up issue

I just purchased the 9800 pro, and when i tried to start it up it just stayed on the start up screen where it scans for Ram, etc... Anyway i read that updating the bios will fix this problem, but i updated mine to the newest and it still only stays at the booting up screen. Can anyone PLEASE help me?..i would really appreciate it...thank you...

I am having asimilar problem with my 9800 pro 128 meg on a p4 1.6 oc'd to 2.13mhz and an abit bg7 motherboard

WildCard I got the same cpu and mb but a 9500Pro. Didn't have any boot up problems when installing the card. Just XP takes forever to pop up the found hardware wizard.
So I can cancel it and run the ati driver install.
Kingofpool see if you can get another video card that you know works to try out. See if its the video card or something else causing the lock up.

I too jsut asembled my comp, i have dual amd mp 2600's and the msi k7d mobo. I get the same prob as you with booting the 9800 pro 256. Have you heard of a fix yet?
