Radeon 9700pro UNDERCLOCK, not overclock

This is a question i've been pondering for awhile now. I know there is better stability (not performance) for CPU's when the FSB and memory clock run in unison. I was wondering if the same applied for video cards, primarily, my ATI Radeon 9700 pro. Default settings: 324mhz engine, 310.50mhz memory clock. At the moment, i dont need the extra power of the 9700, nor am i an avid overclocker (not yet at least ).

My question is, would i get better stability (stability isnt really an issue, doesnt ever crash) or longer card life if i run the engine/memory at same speed, or if there are any benefits to running it at same frequency? or should i just leave at default settings?

Leave it at default settings.
They were designed to run 100% stable at stock speeds, so underclocking wont do a thing, unless your case has poor ventilation.
As for running the GPU/VPU Asyncronus(dunno how to spell it), it wont make a ounce of difference.

If your system never crashes, why are you thinking about downgrading your card? I'm not an overclocker either so I like to run everything @ stock speed. You don't have to worry about your card dying. They will last a lifetime if you don't overclock them too much.
