i've been hearing about Dell offering the 9700 tx, which is the same as the 9700 but clocked a bit lower (looks like it's equivalent to the position the 2000 was in the voodoo3 line). i've also heard that the tx is available in Europe as a regular retail card. does anyone have any info on this card? as tasty as the 9500 pro is looking, a low clocked 9700 with full 256 bit memory bus is even tastier.

yeah, i just got the 9700 tx in my new dell (yesterday's crazy rebate deal) and i haven't really been able to find out anything about it. in anands revew of the 9500 pro he shows two 9700 cards in the comparison charts...the 9700 pro and a 9700. is the 9700 tx the same thing as the 9700?

It looks like a special version of the 9700Pro for Dell or something, clocked at 263MHz according to Dell. I has exactly the same specs except for the clockspeed. Looks like either a lower clocked 9700 or a 9500 Pro in disguise.

I think its going to be the name of the 9700 standard, as the only differences planned were a lower clock speed.

i really hope it isn't a 9500 in disquise. don't think it is as it's the same as the pro with slightly slower clock speed.
