radeon 9700 pro problem

my friend just bought a radeon 9700 pro along with a antec 400W psu.

everytime he plays dod or Enemy Territory for about an hour or so, his game freezes, and the sound repeats. to solve this, he has to restart his whole computer. but when he plays Unreal Tournament 2003, it works fine. Anyone know the problem? many thanks.

left over drivers, sounds like a problem with openGL, uninstall ati drivers from control panel, use driver cleaner, install latest omega drivers
