BAMAVOO run unreal 2003 and GTA3 with 6x FSAA and 16x AF at 1600x1200 resolution. Plus with all details and everything on maximum. Please tell us what fps you get.

Thanks

F*ck 3dMark. N marks, wow. Set the res to 320x200, you'll get millions of marks. Picture quality (texture res, FSAA, Aniso, etc) at 50 fps is more important to me than crap pic at 300 fps Vsync off...

I have one. Went from Geforce4 TI 4600 to Radeon 9700. Its fast but some areas bother me. There are certain games where I notice objects not drawn correctly. I guess its their way to improve performance. But all in all, its acted stable.

I have 140,000 miles on my Dodge Caravan. I find that to be much more significant than any 3D Mark 2000 score.

I was dropped on my head by a black triangle.

The GforceFX is supposed to be at least 40% faster and out next month. I'm going to wait.

I think their way to improve performance over the Ti4600 is to have a higher clock speed, twice the width in the memory bus, 4 more pixel pipelines, more efficient removal of unseen objects, more effecient FSAA.......yea, those things probably help too :D

More signifigant in the speed of your computer? lol....well, with how useless 3DMark is, that's not far off the mark (btw....3dmark 2000 is old news)

I highly, highly doubt that it will be 40% faster, especially in things that matter(FSAA/ansio turned on). The lack of sufficient memory bandiwidth will be the FX's crutch. And plus, R350 isn't far off.

Realworld benchmarks are all that matters, who cares what score you get on it...we arent even sure of how they compile the score in the first place. Without knowing such a key element, 3dmarks realworld usefullness is zippo...

Also who's to know if extensions are added to make it more efficient using NVIDIA vs ATI, or vice versa.

Heres a real test : Run a game at various resolutions, and record the FPS....thats all that matters in regards to numbers and gaming

booyah.

well you're like me then.. :p

but yeah... i agree 3dmark shouldn't matter as much as some people think.
use quake3, run at default settings. (cpu test) then put ALL options on and run at 1600x1200 and see what happens.

Yeah, I'm going to wait too. It's going to have a killer package of games with it as well, Duke Nukem Forever and Team Fortress 2. Can hardly wait.
