I know this boy who is selling it for under $110 and he redone the ramsinks (stock fan). Today i messaged him and he said that the card probably has a down pipeline. He says because his 3dmark points have went down. (hes not pc dumb) Reason why hes selling it low is because he wants the 9800pro. Should i go head and buy this card? Is a down pipeline going to kill the card bad in perfermance?

Down pipeline? If a pipeline were irreversibly damaged somehow, the card would either not work at all or exhibit artifacts making games unplayable. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't cause a performance drop. I would ask for a grace period as a trial to play around with it.

maybe it's an "SE" or something he flashed to 9700 pro, regardless, something sounds fishy.

I ask him today and check. Im getting it for $100 but he doesnt want to sell it b/c he says he will feel bad by giving away a bad card. I could have him give me the card on a discount than heh but its Satire 9700 (pro) cant go cheaper than $100

Down pipeline was the fault of the score in a 3dmark test?? :Q

Like other's said, if a pipeline is damaged, it'll be exhibiting artifacts regardless of the score and what not.

1) Hes either not as PC smart as you think. If its down a whole pipeline, it would most probably fail.

2) Its a softmodded Radeon 9500NP that didnt quite softmod correctly, and thus the pipelines are showing artifacts.

3) Something in his system borked and you probably have to downclock it, and it'll be fine.
