Radeon 9700 Pro Conflict

I run the PC Check in ATI's Multimedia Center Configuration, and it tells me I've got three problems: my DirectX components are not installed properly, my Capture driver INF files are not installed (which doesn't matter), and I've got an Audio Clock Inaccuracy > (+ or -) 2%.

Solution to the DirectX problem is to reinstall DirectX 8.1 or later.

When I run dxdiag it tells me I have DirecX 9.0a properly installed, and no problems found.

I've installed the latest ATI (graphics) and NVIDIA drivers (sound). Any suggestions?

ASUS A7n8X Deluxe
AMD 2700
1 Gig Corsair RAM
Win XP Home SP1
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
2 80 Gig WD Hard Drives
1 partridge in a pear tree

Any suggestions?
Sounds like you installed WDM drivers on a NON-AIW/VIVO card, unless that is an AIW 9700 pro. Either that or the partridge made a mess in your case.

I'm a newbie and this machine is my first build so please help me with the translation:
What the hell is "WDM?"
My card is not an All In Wonder, it's your basic ATI Radeon 9700 pro.
BTW, I've read both ATI and NVIDIA drivers don't uninstall cleanly--what's a poor boy to do?
Thanks.
PS The partridge line earned a laugh.

I would run Driver Cleaner 1.9 from here ,then after you have followed the guide in the readme file, install the CATs 3.6 (ATI drivers and Control panel only) don`t install WDM drivers.
