Radeon 9700 now or wait for new Radeon

I hear a new Radeon series is due out in a month or so. Would it be wise to wait and grab the new series, opposed to buying a 6 month old 9700 now?

Wait. There was a 9700 Pro on the For Sale/Trade forum a couple days ago for $235 shipped. Let the un-loading begin!! There will be a lot more and possibly better deals very shortly.

If you can wait out the 30 days it would be beneficial regardless of whether you're choosing the R300 or R300. I think there will be a pricedrop on the Radeon line soon.
I myself am waiting for price info and benchmarks before deciding. I've experienced the 9700 Pro performance first hand. It is a very fast card.

I sure hope some price cuts are on the horizon. 9700Pro could look mighty nice right around the $200 mark. Am I dreaming? I hope not.

As far as the new R350 stuff, there is no way I will pay $400+. Maybe that's my vidy card next winter.

The suspense is killin me! I am getting ready to build my new rig and it is VERY tough waiting to see what will happen with the 9700 Pro prices! But I guess "prudence" is the best course for the next week or two... NOT THREE!

I love my 9700 PRO card.

It should hold me over till I thet a new PCI EXPRESS capable system next year.

However if I was still in the market....I would definately wait another month and see what happens.

Go for the 9700Pro, all the major retail stores have the 9700P for $299.00. Here at Comp USA-BB-Circuit City..I'm getting one today :too D

I want a new card too but the 8500 is still viable. Once the FX and the new ATI cards hit there should be a nice price-war going on. The 9600 looks very appealing to me. I can wait an extra few months.
