Radeon 9700 and 8x

Anyone know how to get AGP 8x working on the card? Mine is only running at 4x on 2 seperate programs that say the AGP status.

Good thing too from what I hear, most AGP8x mobos have probs with Rad9700's AGP8x AND there's VERY little (if any) speed boost in AGP8x over AGP4x anyway.

How are you finding your Rad9700, what did you own before and how's running ridiculous frame rates with 6xAA and 16tap Aniso .... I can only dream ...

heh yea most motherboards don't support it...and frankly there is little gain in going to 4x from 2x, this 8x thing is a lil overkill.

The card is AWESOME in 3d games I mean just amazing. I have had all geforce cards since day 1 in my computing life. I went from a G4 TI 4600 to this card. Kinda scary I know im a vid card junky HELP ME. The only bad things I can say is the card isnt as good in 2d games like Subspace in which I spend alot of time cause I am a moderator. I actually lost fps in that game but kinda meaninless since losing fps I am still NEVER lower then 75 fps at 1600 res. Also for me to get the card working I had to install my OS all over again. Now this isnt th fault of Radeon because according to them Win2k and XP have to be reinstalled if you upgrade too many times. Now that may sound kinda weird but they told be that it was posted on Microsofts website about the over upgrading problem, but even then still sounds a little fishy to me. But in any case the card is up and running great, even went from the 11000+ are to 12740 in 3D Mark 2001, and the fps in all tests went way up even the nature test never dropped below 80 fps.
