Radeon 9600XT vs. Radeon 9700 Pro

i'm deciding on which to get, so can u guys help me out and tell me which is better overall? ya, i know u guys are gonna tell me to spend a bit more on a 9800 Pro, but i wanna know the comparison on these 2 first.

As you can tell 9800 isn't even in the same league as the 9600xt (of course xt costs $130 and 9800Pro costs $200 so what do you expect?)

9700 non-pro/9800non-pro/9700Pro/9800pro/9800xt along with 5900xt/5900se/5900/5900ultra/5950Ultra will all easily beat a 9600xt.

According to the tests linked above and the prices, it's a slam dunk, but then I don't know why Tom's Fbucks price evaluation rated it the other way around. Doesn't make sense to me.

Why not consider NVIDIA FX5900 cards?

Heck my humble little MSI FX5900XT kicks butt over a 9700 Pro in Quake 3, but I know that's not "overall" (and I'm a dinosaur for even mentioning Q3 huh? ;-), as we lose just about everywhere else if you're only considering gaming. All the features of my MSI card's bundle are impressive; DVD movie, TV in/out performance, etc. might be important to you too.
