Radeon 9600 problems? Please help

Ok, Here is my setup:
Radeon 9600 128mb
Epox 8rda+
AMD 2500+
1024mb Kingston 333mhz ram (two sticks.. of the value crap type)
WD 80gb
Maxtor 120gb (8mb cache)

I've got very good cooling in my setup. I've got a SLK800 with a panaflo on it, and a sunon at the front and rear.

I keep my case clean.

I've got the latest Nforce drivers, and the latest Catalysts.
However, my setup just blows nuts. I can't get crap for looks. I scored a 8750 in 3D Mark 2001 SE. My old ATI AIW 8500 DV (which was an underclocked card with 64mb) scored about the same.

What is wrong here in my setup? I've made sure hardware acceleration is on, and a few other things. Windows is pretty much up to date. What am I not doing right? Is my kingston ram holding my back? I know the ram isn't clocked high at all, but I don't know if that is a determining factor or not. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Did you check and make sure that AA and AF is set to off in the ATI control panel? I was having the same problem, but I didn't suspect this since 3dMark was saying that AA and AF was disabled. I just so happened to notice that the use custom settings box was checked under Direct3d, so I unchecked and reran the test. My results went from 87XX to almost 13000.

it's just that I figured I'd score better than my older radeon 8500DV, which is definitely underclocked.
oh well.
