Radeon 9600 pro

I just received my sapphire radeon 9600 pro that y'all recommended. I am putting it in my Dell 8300 tonight. Never done it before, but had people tell me about it... Any pointers?

I'm going to install the drivers before I install the hardware. A friend told me to do that.....

install the drivers after you install the card. just be sure to discharge your body of any electricity by touching a metal grounded object.

You mean before I install it discharge myself??

My friend told me he isntalled the drivers after with his 6800gt... when he turned his computer back on all the graphics were screwed up and it made it hard to navigate through installing the drivers?

thats how you are supposed to doit....it looks screwed because the resolution is so little like 6 x

1. turn off computer
2. remove the old card
3. put in new card
4. turn on computer
5. go to the control panel-->add/remove programs-->remove (old)video drivers
6. download DriverCleaner
7. run DriverCleaner
8. load ATI drivers from the disc or most recent from their site(recommended)

also, dont forget to unplug your ethernet cable or disable network for a while so that windows don't install the drivers by itself. their driver sucks

I have dial up at home so that wasn't a problem.... I have to get rid of my old drivers?

All of the installation seemed to go fine. Its in there. I played a game and it looks a little different... but not much.

So exactly what do I do to get rid of my old drivers?
