radeon 9600 pro "fireblade" <-???

I just noticed recently that my graphics card is titled as a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro Fireblade Retail. Anyone know what this "Fireblade" means?

The same thing "Bloody Monster" meant? 😀

It was, I believe, a guaranteed memory overclock to 330/660. Which made no sense since most 9600pros came with memory that could do 350/700.

Note that the 330 was not it's default speed, it was just what they said it would overclock to.

Does that mean I should be able to safely overclock the memory clock to 330 MHz? what about the core clock?

There is no such thing as "safely" in OC'g something. Once you start to change settings from the "default" range, you are taking things into your own hands. The difference between these two settings might gain you a few fps, but that would be about it.
