Looking for the Giga Cube 9600 VIVO that was supposed to be out end of April. Been waiting for a DirectX 9 VIVO card.

So what kind of performance do you get with an overclocked 9500 pro? Is it really better to get a 9600 pro over a 9500 pro?

personally i think NONE of the new cards are gonna be able to push true DX9 games in 6 months... sure you can play quake 3 at 400fps... But look at Nature, which only utilizes a couple DX9 shaders, a lot of people complained that the test "wasnt DX9 enough". At a whopping 30fps, how are these cards gonna perform on a full DX9 engine? Personally im gonna wait AT LEAST 1 more gen of cards (NV35 + R400)

I actually just ordered one from Monarch last night. It was like 2am, actually, and I had it shipped nextday so it'll be here tomorrow (I need a vidcard as I'm on my last one, ATi All-in-Wonder Radeon, which is being shipped out tomorrow.) So I'll be able to tell everyone my overclocking experiances by 11pm Est (I have to work late). I can't wait!

I really don't think that DX9 games will be out so shortly. True hardcore gamers don't buy for the future, because when the future comes around there's always that next round of upgrades. This card will be fantastic for the next year or so, and I'm sure that it won't be until later in that year that games start fully using DX9.

Wasn't recently that I read that games are hardly taking advanate of DX8.1 as of just before the release of DX9? Anywho, this card will be great :).

edit: Btw, are there any other articles about the overclocking? Or maybe people that already have the retail version and can confirm their overclocks?

No problem at all. I'll see if I have time to actually do an article (including screenshots) like hardocp. I don't know how long I'll keep the card, so if anyone is interested into upgrading to one of these anytime some, just send me a PM. It really didn't hit me that I sold BOTH my videocards until I shipped out the first and starting putting the second on in my pc and I said to myself "Hey, don't forget that you have to ship this....one...out....soon :(..DOH!"

Do you guys really think the 9600 will be that much better than the 9500 Pro? Considering the amount of pixel piplelines it has in the core.

Stock 9600 Pro vs. Stock 9500 Pro = 9500 Pro wins just about all the time, especially when AA/AF is involved. OC the 9600 Pro over 500 core and it can best a 9500 Pro just about all the time.

Woohoo! I just got home and checked my email. Monarch sent my 9600pro :). It's guaranteed to be here by 3pm est. I go to work at 4:30 :( So I hope they get it here before 3 so I have more time to play with it!

Actually if you search for "9600" you'll see that they are just out of 9600 pros. Besides, Monarch is by far the best place to order them.....why?....They're in stock!
