Are my 3DMark Scores too low? The numbers looked low - next to my friend who had a similar system w/ a 9700 Pro and was getting 4600.

Before Overclock - 2911

After Overclock - 3258

I also Ran 3dMark2001

Before Overclock - 8411

After OC - 9340

Are these too low? Comp specs in sig. Thanks for any help!

it does look a bit low, im scoring somewhere close to 4k on 3Dmark03 and about 13800 something on
3Dmark01SE with a stock 9500 pro,but then again we cant do a straight comparison since we dont have the same cards. but i do know that the 9600 pro's are clocked higher compared to the 9500 pro's.maybe someone will give us a better answer :)

OH btw, check your 3d settings tab and see what you got turned on those settings always have a strong impact on performance :)

those are low.

my laptop has the MOBILTY 9600 Pro (which I assume is worse than the desktop version) and I get 2001 scores of nearly 12,000, though I can't remember the exact score. can't remember the 2003 score either, but i know it was over 4,000.

other specs of my system, so you can compare to yours: 3.2 GHz P4 (HT off), 1024 MB Dual Channel DDR400, AGP 8x

i got ~3400 for 3Dmark03 and ~12,000 for 3Dmark01 with my AIW 9600 pro and Tbred @ 2.0ghz, so they seem kinda low

You guys that are trying to cmpare the 9500 Pro to the 9600 Pro, you can't. The 9500 is a better card. As for the reason your scores look a little low, it's most likely your CPU. If you have adequate cooling I'd try and take that 2000+ a little higher.

My system is an athlon xp 2600 with asus a7n8x nforce 2. My 9600 pro at stock gets about 3700 3dmarks in 03 and 11,000 in 01. With OC to 450/600 from 400/600, i get about 3800 03 and 12,000 in 01. Try getting a little bit faster cpu, but a 2000+ shouldnt be too limiting.

My 9600Pro is Oced to = 472/660

I dont have good enough cooling, or a decent motherboard to OC on. I've tried, my motherboard was all like... no....

Would my ram have anything to do with it? 256 PC2700 Buffalo. My friend told me thats killing my score some

My 9600pro scored 4000 when overclocked to 500/650. Yours sounds slightly low, but only by 200marks at most - not enough to worry about IMHO

3Dmark 01 score is CPU dependant, even so its a bit low considering my ti4200 can hit 13.4k in 3dmark.
That was on a Athlon 2100+ @ 2.2ghz.

Do you have AA/AF set to application preference , features like that?

The '03 scores look right, the '01SE scores are a bit low. Could be only having 256MB.
1800+ (stock)
NF2 mobo, 512MB (SC) PC3200 RAM
9800SE (returned, going to get 9600XT) 380/600
20GB WD ATA66 HD

It didn't manage 3K in '03, but got over 11k in '01 (over 13k softmodded, but the card was bad anyway :(). You might have something hogging the PC in the background...
Should be comparable to a 9600 Pro, slightly lower in clock speed.
A 9500 Pro, BTW, is comparable to a 10% overclcoked 9600 XT (275x8 vs. 500x4 = 550x4 vs. 500x4).
