are the Radeon 9600 Pros 128bit chips? ive been reading that 256 is a lot better but I cant seem to find any 9600 Pros with 256Bit..

that's because they're non-existant. The best 256 bit video cards out there right now, for the price anyway, are the 5900xt series. They start at $170

You might be thinking of the new cheap 128bit memory 9800pros. They are around $170. The proper 256bit memory 9800pro should be around $200.

The 9600 series is(was) a mid range card and it has 128bit memory save the SE model which has 64bit.

Yes, the NV5900XT is a steal at $170.
