Radeon 9600 and ASUS A8V DELUXE S939 Compatibility

I am building a new PC for a firend and I was thinking about using the ASUS A8V DELUXE S939 mobo and the 256mb Sapphire Radeon 9600. The only thing I'm worried about is that some of the Newegg reviews say the Radeon 9600 doesn't work well with the A8V b/c of the VIA chipset. Will the 9600 be compatible with the A8V or shoul I get a different video card?

more like switch to nforce 4 and get an msi neo4 for around $85 if you aren't oc'ing, epox 9npa+ if you are. the a8v reported a few bugs from some customers. if you havent bought that video card, dont, the two boards i recommended are pci-e, and a x300 should be a comparable pci-e vid card vs the 9600 base.

My via based soltek board didn't get along with my 9800pro. If I was going to do it over again, I would have went with an nforce3 board if I needed AGP.

If I was you I'd change something.

Is this going to be a gaming computer?

If so, I'd definately spend more on the videocard, and probably switch to PCI-e while I was at it.
