So 128bit cards should not have more than 128mb ram
256bit memory interfaces should not have more than 256mb ram

generally, at least.

but like the guy said earlier, 128-bit vs 128 mb, 256-bit vs 256mb

it's perceivable to memory technology standards. high expectations for architecture below performance barrier standards is seriously a waste of money.

That's actually way off. My 6800, for example, has 128MB with 256-bit. If it were 128 / 128, it would be way slower.
