Radeon 9500pro rocks! Reviews up at AT!

ATi has always had the hardware know-how to compete with NVIDIA. Finally, in the past several months, they have realized the importance of the software side of things. In the Codecreatures demo the performance improves by around 50%. That is an NVIDIA-like boost in performance from drivers. They have done a good job of competing with NVIDIA. I like when there are two competitive companies out there that both have products worthy of purchase. It just leaves us with more options and lower prices on both sides. =)

The 9500 Pro looks like a very nice mid-range board and it gives the Ti4600 a thorough pasting when anisotropic filtering is enabled. nVidia desperately needs to make the FX much faster when performing anisotropic filtering.

cant belive it even beats the Radeon 9700 pro in some tests
That's just benchmarking noise - don't worry about it.

I think I just found my next video card 😀 (Too bad it won't be until early next year 🙁) I think the Radeon 9500 Pro just earned its ~$200 MSRP 😉 I'm looking forward to street prices around $150-180. Even at $200 its both faster *and* cheaper than the Ti4600!

No wonder they are dumping the Ti4200 at BB. Now the tough decision Ti4200 for ~$90 or the 9500Pro for $160

WTH - No comparisons of the 9500-9700 cards to the 8500-9000 families?

I would like some comparisons since all of them are still on the shelves. Anyone know any other reviews where they actually compare them?

Ti4200 for $90 seems quite obvious to me... :Q
the 9500 is close to twice the price and not 2x the performance at all.

That's always the case though, with computer stuff.
I'm happy with my 9000 pro 64 meg.... .and this was a recent upgrade 🙂

Ugh, maybe I didn't want to see I paid for a 9000Pro when an 8500 costs less for identical performance.

Just ordered my 9500Pro from mwave today. Regardless of the performance specifics, it will absolutely blow away my original Radeon 32DDR.
