Radeon 9500 Pro under Linux question

Hello,

wonder is anyone around had a good luck installing this card (or R9700) under Linux OS? I managed to get ATI's driver working, but with glitches... certain font sizes were screwed up, as well as konsole splash screens after logout from KDE 3.x (completely garbled screens etc).. I didn't run into any errors during the installation (followed the instructions closely), but the above mentioned glitches are not acceptable.

I didn't of course get this card for toying under Linux only; but I dual boot most my boxes with Win2k or WinXP, and was hoping for better results ... I use SuSE distros only (this install was under version 8.1). Have sweet install of ver. 8.0 with GF3Ti200 on another box, and would love to see R9500 perform similarly good if not better... ver 8.1 uses 2.4.19 kernel.

I could put Radeon 7500 in the box instead and all would be OK, but I'd kinda feel that I wasted $220+tax if I'd put R9500Pro on the shelf and wait for next SuSE release (maybe April or May) which will hopefully have full support for this ATI line.... :(

thx for suggestions
dave
