My daughter has a 128 meg Radeon 9200 video card in her system. I noticed the other day that the video display is acting funny. When you click on the Start button or right click anything in the Taskbar the options diplay, but very slowly, almost like they appears gradually from thin air. Also when I surf the web the pages seem to swipe in like a cut away or transition in the movies. It is always from top to bottom and scrolling down a web page is very choppy.

I changed monitors and got the same effects. I tried an older set of drivers from ATI as well as Omega drivers all with no change.

Any thoughts?

sounds like the drivers aren't installed properly.

Google, d/l, and run Drivercleaner, then install the latest set of WHQL drivers from ATI.

I would try doing what dug said but use the Cat 4.12, for some reason they seem to be the best performing drivers for ati cards upto the 9800XT, I have a few 8500's and 9000pro's which are faster than your 9200 and they seem the get the best performance with the 4.12's anything after usually has a fairly large perfomance drop (up to 1000 3dmarks in 2001).

I will try that next. I went in and notched the hardware acceleration down one level. So far so good. But also in the past with each driver reinstall things worked fine for a little while too and then went bad again :(

Thanks for the input and any more thoughts are appreciated
