I just found a Sapphire Radeon 9100 AGP with 128M RAM, I was very please to get it.
Then I went to plug it into my PC that had a PCI Radeon 9000 Card and the new 9100 would only display blue sqaures all over the screen in a pattern with black background. The blue blocks change colors as the machine attempts to boot. I would actually say the machine is booting properly, but the card is not displaying properly.

The card has a DVI, VGA and SVideo out.
The Chip cooler fan is spinning.

I have a LCD Screen with a 15 pin VGA adapter plug which was plugged into the 15 pin VGA port of the 9100.

Is the card faulty?
Do they make cards that have all 3 connectors but only use the DVI and SVideo?
I have ordered a DVI to VGA adapter to test the results from the DVI port, but it won't be here for a few days. :(

Just to be clear, I never see the BIOS Ascii character screens at bootup, only the little blue blocks I described earlier.

Can anyone tell me if they have seen this before and what to do?

It sounds like the card is faulty. As far as I know nobody makes a video card with a VGA connector that isn't connected. It makes no sense to spend the $ for the connector if it isn't a feature.

That's what I was afraid of.
I may go ahead and try out the DVI port (for experience) and see what I get, then RMA it.

If the DVI port works I will try to post a reply as such.

Thanks for the response.
